Former Marlborough Teacher Charged with 10 Additional Sex Crimes
The NBC Los Angeles segment, “Former teacher charged with more sex crimes after second victim comes forward,” addresses the additional charges filed against Marlborough School’s former English teacher, Dr. Joseph Koetters.
In February 2015, Mr. Koetters was criminally charged with having a sexual relationship with one of his students between 2000 and 2002 and impregnating her. Since then, a second victim came forward alleging Mr. Koetters sexually abused her when she attended Marlborough School in 2004.
Partner Dave Ring is representing both Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2 in separate civil suits against Marlborough School and Mr. Koetters. “Marlborough school had ample opportunities to put an end to this guy,” says Mr. Ring. “They kept turning a blind eye to him and he stayed there for 15 years with a whole host of complaints against him involving this type of conduct.”
Mr. Koetters is charged with 10 additional sex crimes and due back in court on June 1, 2015. If convicted, he faces up to 11 years in prison.
