Dave Ring Talks to Ventura County Star About Sexual Abuse Lawsuit Against Hueneme Elementary School District
In the article, “Hueneme School District sued again over 2001 teacher molestation case” published by Ventura County Star, Partner Dave Ring discusses the second lawsuit filed by Taylor & Ring against Hueneme School District on behalf of a client for sexual abuse. The lawsuit alleges Mr. Ring’s client was sexually assaulted when she was an eighth grader at Blackstock School by her former math teacher Jose Felix. At the time, Mr. Felix threatened the girl and said he would harm her and her family if she mentioned the abuse.
“Now that she’s an adult, she’s realized how much it has impacted her life, so she’s decided to come forward,” says Mr. Ring.
More than 10 years ago, Mr. Ring sued the School District and Mr. Felix for sexually abusing two sisters. The district agreed to pay $1.5 million and Mr. Felix was sentenced to 15 years in prison for committing a lewd sex act on a child.
