Afnan Shukry

Afnan represents personal injury victims and survivors of sexual assault, abuse and misconduct. Before joining Taylor & Ring, Afnan worked at a plaintiff-side law firm where she specialized in personal injury claims.
Afnan earned her bachelors degree from University of California, Los Angeles where she graduated as a triple-major in Political Science, Arabic, and Middle East & North African Studies. Afnan graduated from King Hall School of Law at the University of California, Davis. During Law school, she wrote and was an editor for the Journal of Juvenile Law and Policy. Afnan was also a student advocate at the UC Davis Civil Rights Clinic providing pro-bono representation for inmates suffering from civil rights violations.
Some of the results that Afnan has obtained include:
- $6 million settlement on behalf of a woman who was sexually abused by her math teacher in high school during the 1980s.

$5 million settlement on behalf of two women who were abused by an employee of a religious school.
- $3.5 million settlement on behalf of a young girl who was sexually abused by her assistant coach at a high school in Tulare county.

$2 million settlement on behalf of a minor who was sexually assaulted by a coach at a religious school.
- $1.25 million settlement on behalf of a young man who suffered a mild traumatic brain injury as well as orthopedic injuries after being struck by an SUV while riding his skateboard. The young man was not wearing a helmet.
- $1.175 million settlement on behalf of a man who suffered orthopedic injuries after being side-swept by a semi-truck while pulled over on the side of the road in his RV.
- $1 million settlement on behalf of the parents of a couple that was killed after being struck by an underaged drunk driver in Long Beach. The case was against the liquor store owner who sold alcohol to the driver earlier that day.
