Congratulations, John Taylor and Dave Ring, on Being Named Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers!
Taylor & Ring is proud to announce that both John Taylor and Dave Ring, founding partners of Taylor & Ring, have been become Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers. The ACTL was founded in 1950, and is comprised of experienced litigators from the U.S. and Canada.
Membership in the ACTL is limited only to one percent (1%) of the entire lawyer population of a state or province, and there are fewer than 6000 active Fellows, Emeritus Fellows, Judicial Fellows and Honorary Fellows in the organization. This year’s Spring Meeting saw the induction of 95 attorneys into the College. Per the College’s mission statement, “The College thoroughly investigates each nominee for admission and selects only those who have demonstrated the very highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism and collegiality.” Membership is invitation-only.

Both John C. Taylor and Dave M. Ring are award-winning attorneys: they have been repeatedly named to Southern California Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America, maintain 10/10 Superb scores on Avvo, and 5/5 peer reviews by Martindale-Hubbell. John Taylor has been named Trial Lawyer of the Year Award from the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), and Dave Ring was named “Personal Injury Attorney of the Year” in 2015 by California Lawyer.
Both partners have handled high-profile cases with generated a vast amount of media coverage, and have obtained tens of millions of dollars on behalf of personal injury and sexual abuse clients throughout California.
Their inclusion in the American College of Trial Lawyers speaks not only to their work in the courtroom, but also to their commitment to protecting and improving the civil justice system. John Taylor is an Emeritus Board member and sustaining member of CAALA. He is also a sustaining member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and Trial Lawyers for Public Justice (TLPJ). Dave Ring is a former President and current Board member of CAALA, and a member of the AAJ and the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC).
These organizations are devoted to protecting victims’ access to justice, and to providing opportunities to attorneys throughout the country. They help craft legislation that protects people and the courts, and to supporting those in need. These are the groups that ensure that the American public always has a seat at the table.
All of us at Taylor & Ring are incredibly proud of John and Dave for their inclusion as Fellows in the College. We hope you’ll join us in saying “Congratulations!” on this latest achievement.
