Dave Ring Examines the Impact of Assembly Bill 1432 in Daily Journal
Effective January 2015, Assembly Bill (AB) 1432 requires school districts to provide training for all employees so that they are well-equipped to quickly identify and report suspected child abuse, both sexual and physical. Partner Dave Ring discuss the new law in the Daily Journal article “AB 1432: Teachers are positioned to spot abuse”.
The new law amends the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and the Education Code, and requires school personnel to receive and provide proof of abuse training six weeks into the new school year or six weeks after a new hire’s start date.
Mr. Ring states, “These requirements will help ensure that school districts provide detailed and informative training to those who are often in the best position to recognize and report child abuse.”
