Taylor & Ring Obtains $6.15 Million Settlement Against an LA Sheriff’s Deputy for Rape and Bribery

Taylor & Ring obtained a $6.15 million settlement against Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy, Jose Rigaberto Sanchez, on behalf of a woman who was raped by Sanchez during a traffic stop in 2010. He has been sentenced to eight years and eight months in prison. On Tuesday, Los Angeles County approved the $6.15 million settlement, which is the largest settlement paid by the County in its history.
On September 22, 2010, Lindsay F. was pulled over by Sanchez in Palmdale for driving under the influence and having a suspended license. Sanchez offered not to arrest her on an outstanding warrant in exchange for sex. Sanchez then took Lindsay to the desert and raped her.
