Two Recalls Affect More Than 28,000 International Trucks
Navistar, Inc. recently announced two separate recalls involving more than 28,000 International trucks. Additionally, Continental Tire announced a recall of approximately 2,000 commercial truck tires. These announcements are according to documents from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The trucking company is recalling 26,288 of their heavy-duty trucks with specific Cummins engines – ISX15 and X15 diesel engines. In certain driving conditions, such as long downhill grades, the fuel pump cooling circuit could become restricted, which may cause the fuel line to burst, leading to potential engine stalls, fuel spills, and truck accidents.
Earlier in the fall, Daimler Trucks North America recalled 4,500 trucks for the same issue.

The affected International trucks include:
- 2017-2018 International 9900I

Navistar has also issued another recall, affecting about 2,089 trucks and buses with long stroke brake chambers and spring actuated parking brakes. In affected vehicles, the spring actuated parking brake may be improperly crimped to the long stroke brake chamber. This can cause an air leak and separate the spring brake chamber from the service brake section.

- 2019 International HX
- 2019 International LoneStar
